James Ramsay – Senior Minister
James started at HBC in 2006 along with his wife Louise. Since their arrival they have added four children to the family, including one perfect set of twins.
James grew up in Wollongong and studied Psychology and Sociology at the University of Wollongong. Before full time ministry, James worked with young people in a number of settings including homeless shelters, rehab centres, drop in centres and school environments. He also worked for a number of years assisting refugees in their first few months of settlement in Australia.
He completed his Master of Divinity at Morling College while working in youth ministry in a number of Churches throughout the Illawarra. Part of accepting the call to Helensburgh Baptist Church was the appeal of being part of a great community where he could commit to raising his family and commit to caring for the people of HBC and the 2508 area.
